Esther

Read the story of Queen Esther on the flight. Awesome historic account of the times with King Xerxes as the king of Persia. If you have a study bible I strongly encourage you to read the notes, they add a lot of color to the context of the story. In summary: God's plan cannot be thwarted (complete annihilation of the Jews couldn't occur prior to Jesus' birth despite the plans of Haman), God will use the faithful and courageous to carry out His plans, God is in control but we must be willing to act - we should pray as if all depended on God and act as if all depended on us, and finally you will be rewarded in God's time for your faithfulness to Him.
